A total of fifteen (15) uniformed personnel of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) receive awards during the Monday flag raising ceremony at Camp Delgado this morning September 25.
 
The Medalya ngKagalingan or the PNP Medal of Merit was awarded to Police Superintendent Luther Lugo III, Police Senior Inspector Efren Yu-ing, SPO1 FelomardelaFuente and PO2s LazaroSereno and John MaruelArtuz of Roxas City Police Station for the successful conduct of buy bust operation last June 30, 2017 at Villariz Compound, Brgy. Banica, Roxas City, Capizwhich resulted to the arrest of Johny Base, GenilDasig, Edmund Buenavista Bernard Deocampo, Arvin Jeric Torres and MorenaSalmazan for violations of Republic Act 9165.
 
Same awards were also given to Police Senior Inspector Henry Gaborno, SPO2s Daniel Llasco Jr and Elmer Bangud and PO2s Larry Buendia, Elden Galon and Adrian Gajardo members of San Lorenzo Municipal Police Station, Guimaras Police Provincial Office Special Operation Group and Provincial Public Safety Platoon for the arrest of Michael Gargaran, Top 1 Most Wanted Person in the Municipality last August 26, 2017 at SitioBupen, Brgy. Sapal, San Lorenzo, Guimaras.
 
Meanwhile, personnel from Regional Finance Office 6 receive the Medalya ng Papuri or the PNP Commendation Medal for the 100% delivery of Salaries and Allowances to all PRO6 personnel.
 
These individuals are Police Chief Inspector Moh Zainul Abidin Ilupa, SPO4 Paterno Magan and PO2 Dave Draper.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) launches the “Smoke-free Camp at Camp Delgado, this morning September 25.
 
This endeavor is in support to the president executive order of banning smoking in public places and workplace.
 
Police Chief Superintendent CESAR HAWTHORNE BINAG, regional director led the signing of pledge of commitment and it was then followed by all officers and personnel of the region.
 
The personnel who wanted to stop smoking will be sending to the Regional Health Service 6 for cessation intervention program and for the personnel violating the policy they will be given citation tickets and demerits.
 
RD Binag’s intention is to make the regional headquarters a healthy workplace for the personnel as well as for the visitors.
 
The Regional Tobacco Control Network, a Multi-Sectoral membership chaired by the Department of Health, Region 6 encourages the participation of all government agencies in attaining the 100% smoke free Western Visayas.
 
To note; The PRO6 will participates in the Red Orchids Awards under the National Government Category in the Campaign of a smoke free environment.
 
The launching was done during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony and it was witness by the Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) Executive Director Mr. Iñigo Garingalao.

Police Chief Superintendent CESAR HAWTHORNE R. BINAG, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 6 gives awards to personnel of PRO6 for displaying an exemplary ability as police officers during the flag raising ceremony at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City today September 11.
 
The Medalya ng Kasanayan or the PNP Efficiency Medal were awarded to the members of Iloilo City Swat Team headed by Police Senior Inspector Eduardo S Saicon Jr and eight (8) others for winning as Champion during the SWAT Competition 2017 held at PRO6 Firing Range last August 14-15, 2017.
 
Medalya ng Papuri or PNP Commendation Medal were also awarded to Police Superintendent Rogen A Morales and PO1 Kenneth S Camarista members of Iloilo City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit during the conduct of buy bust operation which resulted to the arrest of Arquelino S De Juan alias “Arki” on September 1, 2017 at Brgy. Zone 3, Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
 
Moreover, same award were also given to Senior Police Officer 1 Steven V Salaya of Iloilo City Police Office for his meritorious accomplishments that led him to be adjudged as Top 2 finalist for the Police Non-Commissioned Officers Category in Metro Bank Foundation- Rotary Club of New Manila East Search for Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service.
 
RD Binag in his speech, congratulates the awardees for the job well done and reminded the personnel to remain steadfast, render more sacrifice for the greater good of the community and the organization. “Remember, we are in this together, Do not forget our shared vision of a drug-free, crime free Western Visayas, he said”. Five hundred twenty one (521) both Commissioned and Non-commissioned police officers from Police Regional Office 6 were promoted to the next higher rank today (September 20) at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
 
These 521 police officers, 24 were Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) and 497 were Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO).
 
Out of the 24 PCO, 7 of which were Police Chief Inspector, 16 Police Senior Inspector and 1 Police Inspector.
 
And, from the 497 PNCOs, 30 were SPO4, SPO3 186, SPO2 134, SPO1 45, PO3 36 and 66 P02.
 
No less than PR0-6 regional director Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag administered the oath taking ceremony and at the same time led the pinning of ranks to the newly promoted police officers.
 
To note; the donning of ranks for the newly promoted PNP personnel was simultaneously conducted nationwide.

 Police Regional Office 6 re-launches the Oplan “Drug Free Drivers” at Camp Delgado today, September 11.
 
The program was first launched last November 07, 2016 which offers free drug testing to all drivers of Public Utility Vehicles (PUV). The purpose was to ensure the safety of both drivers and commuters against hazards posed by the use of illegal drugs.
 
PRO6 establish a Drug testing Desk for drivers of PUV’s inside the camp. Drivers who shall voluntarily avail of the free drug testing will be given a certification indicating that the driver is drug-free, if the result is negative and an Identification Card to be displayed conspicuously in their respective PUVs for information of the riding public.
 
Same as before, the driver’s data will be encoded in the PRO6 Infotxt System as a supporter in the anti-illegal drug campaign and operator of the system shall notify and encourage the driver to undergo drug testing again after the expiration of the certification.
 
On the other, drivers who will yield a positive result shall undergo thecommunity based rehabilitation inside camp.
 
The revived drug free testing was initiated after a consultative dialogue with stakeholders; jeepney operators and transportation companies toaddress the prevailing vehicular accidents which resulted to damage to property or injury.
 
Furthermore, PRO6 is looking forward for the policies in making the initiative a part of Iloilo City Ordinance.
