Police Regional Office 6 has started preparations to assure full security for all members of the athletic delegations and guest who will be attending the 2017 Palarong Pambansa.

The games will start tomorrow, April 24, 2017 with each event to be held on different assigned venues. The opening program was held right after the parade of delegations which commenced at around 4 in the afternoon today, and was graced by no less than his Excellency, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The event was held at Evelio Javier Gym, Binirayan, San Jose, Antique.

Police Regional Office 6, led by Police Senior Superintendent Christopher E Tambungan, Deputy Regional Director for Operations was present to assure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the 60th Palarong Pambansa.

Tambungan said that this is the first time that Antique province gets to host the Palarong Pambansa. That is why he assures that all members of the Police Regional Office 6 will give their full support and will exert optimum efforts to keep the delegates and guests safe and secure while they stay here.

Tambungan added that the PNP plays a bigger role in ensuring peace and order during the event. As such, the PNP had properly and strategically deployed personnel in all game venues as well as in the billeting areas of all athletes to ensure that all Palaro delegates are safe and secure throughout the whole duration of the national games in the Province of Antique.

PRO6 is thus appealing to the public to report to the PNP any incident and/or suspicious persons they have noticed in their respective places because security is not only the responsibility of the PNP but of everybody.
